Job Title: Team Leader – Manufacturing Operations
Pay: $40-$42/hr
Location: Dubuque, IA
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM | Overtime as Needed
Summary
We are seeking a Team Leader to support production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for leading production employees, executing daily production plans, ensuring safety and quality standards are achieved, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing leadership experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to motivate and develop teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support production employees to achieve daily safety, quality, and delivery goals.
- Assign work, monitor team performance, and ensure production schedules are met.
- Provide training, onboarding, and development opportunities for employees.
- Deliver performance feedback and address employee concerns, attendance issues, and workplace conflicts.
- Troubleshoot production and quality issues to maintain operational efficiency.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and housekeeping requirements.
- Coordinate staffing, overtime, and daily production priorities based on business needs.
- Partner with maintenance and operations teams to maximize equipment uptime.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools to support reporting, communication, and production planning.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Previous experience leading or supervising employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to resolve workplace issues and motivate team members.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work overtime, including occasional weekends, as needed.
Preferred
- Experience working with manufacturing equipment.
- Equipment troubleshooting, programming, or automation experience.
- Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience.
- Experience in heavy manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or industrial production environments.
