Supply Management Specialist
Location: Waterloo, Iowa (Onsite – John Deere Waterloo Works)
Schedule: 1st Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, no anticipated overtime
Pay Rate: $28-$30 / hour
Job Type: W2 Contract – 24 months – ongoing
About the Role
John Deere Waterloo Works is seeking a Supply Management Specialist to support continuous improvement initiatives within a fast?paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you’ll lead sourcing optimization efforts, partner closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, and drive supplier risk mitigation and resourcing projects. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure across multiple commodities while contributing to high?impact supply chain initiatives at a global manufacturing leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead continuous improvement projects by identifying and implementing optimal sourcing solutions to support quality, cost, and delivery objectives within the assigned supply base
- Collaborate and negotiate with a broad network of internal partners and external suppliers to ensure alignment and successful execution
- Build subject?matter expertise across multiple commodity areas
- Lead supplier resourcing and risk mitigation initiatives
- Maintain accurate project documentation and updates using team communication and project management tools
Required Qualifications
- Ability to investigate, own, and resolve complex and ambiguous problems, driving them through to resolution
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Strong relationship?building skills with both internal partners and external suppliers
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
- Open to recent graduates
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP
- Experience creating dashboards or visual reporting tools (Power BI, data analytics tools, SharePoint)
Additional Details
- Must be comfortable driving to other Waterloo?area facilities (within a 20?mile radius) approximately six times per year using a personal vehicle
- Occasional travel to supplier locations (rental car provided)
- Position is fully onsite; onsite interviews preferred
- No anticipated overtime
