Job Title: Controls Engineer – Coating & Bonding
Location: Warsaw, Indiana
Travel: Up to 10% (Domestic & International)
Who We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of control systems for our coating and bonding manufacturing line. This role is critical to ensuring system efficiency, reliability, and safety while supporting our production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Control System Design & Development
- Design and implement control systems tailored to coating and bonding operations.
- Program and configure PLCs, SCADA, and other control interfaces.
- Conduct system integration, testing, and debugging to ensure optimal performance.
System Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform routine maintenance and diagnostics on control systems and machinery.
- Resolve system issues promptly to minimize production downtime.
- Upgrade legacy systems to improve efficiency and extend lifecycle.
Process Optimization
- Analyze system performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across production processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate new technologies and workflows.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all systems meet industry standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system designs, configurations, and maintenance logs.
- Present performance reports and improvement plans to senior leadership.
Training & Support
- Train maintenance staff and end-users on control system operations.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in control engineering.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Advanced degrees or certifications in Controls Engineering are a plus.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Controls Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven expertise in PLC programming, SCADA configuration, and control system integration.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in control system software and tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid role with both office and plant floor engagement.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and perform repetitive tasks while standing or walking for extended periods.
