Systems Engineer III
Location: Mossville, IL (Onsite)
Compensation: $45-$49/hour
Caterpillar is seeking a Systems Engineer III to support the development and integration of advanced automation and autonomy technologies for heavy equipment. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative products involving sensors, control systems, software, and computing platforms in a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate customer and business needs into system-level requirements.
- Develop and manage system requirements, architecture, and integration strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to design, develop, and validate new features.
- Integrate hardware, software, sensors, and control systems.
- Perform troubleshooting, issue resolution, and technical risk management.
- Create and maintain FMEA documentation and supporting engineering artifacts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of engineering development experience.
- Experience developing and tracking technical requirements.
- Strong understanding of sensor, software, and computing system integration.
- Excellent communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with robotics, automation, or autonomous systems.
- Knowledge of CAN, Ethernet, CANape, Wireshark, ROS, Azure DevOps, and Git.
- Experience with FMEA processes and mobile or off-highway equipment applications.
