Software Test Engineer – In-Vehicle Features
Job Type: W2, Contract
Job Location: Dearborn, Michigan 48124
- Fully On-site, 5 days per week.
Pay Rate: $40.00 – $42.00 per hour
Position Description:
As a Software Test Engineer, you will:
- Work with the latest vehicle technologies to test end-to-end in-vehicle features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Product Managers, Mobile App and Cloud Software Development teams) to ensure test suites reflect the most current feature design requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts to validate software functionality.
- Execute both automated and manual tests to identify software defects and ensure quality.
- Identify opportunities for test automation and recommend improvements to testing processes.
- Deliver effective verification metrics for assigned features and raise timely awareness of critical issues.
- Take ownership of defect creation, management, and resolution with clear and consistent engineering and communication practices.
Skills Required:
Software Testing
- End-to-end testing of in-vehicle features.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to align test suites with feature requirements.
- Manual test execution to identify defects and ensure quality.
- Identification of automation opportunities and process improvements.
- Delivery of verification metrics and escalation of critical issues.
- Ownership of defect lifecycle and communication.
User Acceptance Testing
- Conduct exploratory testing based on non-requirement-based test cases.
Experience Required:
- 0–3 years of experience in:
- Programming languages such as Python, C++, or others used in test automation.
- Software testing concepts and methodologies.
- Writing clear and concise test cases.
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
