Title: HR Generalist
Location: Grant, IL
Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite
Duration: 3-Month W2 Contract
Compensation: $30-32/hr W2
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support the Human Resources function at a manufacturing facility in Grant, IL.
This individual will serve as a key resource for employees and leaders, supporting leave administration, employee accommodations, employee relations, and employee lifecycle activities while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing employee leave programs, ADA accommodations, and employee relations matters within a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential employee matters are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, disability, and leave case management
- Manage employee accommodation requests and facilitate the ADA interactive process
- Support managers and employees with employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns
- Resolve routine employee relations matters independently
- Assist with onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle activities
- Maintain accurate employee records within Workday and other HR systems
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee HR inquiries
- Track recurring employee concerns and recommend proactive solutions
- Ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Partner with leaders to promote a positive employee experience and workplace culture
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- 1–3+ years of Human Resources experience
- Experience administering employee leave programs
- Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and applicable employment laws
- Experience managing accommodation requests and participating in the interactive process
- Employee Relations experience
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee matters with professionalism
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience using HRIS systems
- No allergy or sensitivity to penicillin or cephalosporins due to facility exposure requirements
Preferred Experience
- Workday experience
- Manufacturing or plant environment HR experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
- Experience supporting employee relations investigations
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR certifications
Travel & Work Environment
- Fully onsite position
- Manufacturing plant environment
- Significant employee interaction and walk-in HR support
- Must be comfortable working in areas where penicillin and cephalosporin products are manufactured
