UI/UX Designer (Onsite – Johnston, Iowa)
Pay: $49 – $52 an hr 

We are seeking a UI/UX Designer to support the design and delivery of intuitive, user-centered digital experiences across platforms. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys collaborating cross-functionally and translating complex requirements into thoughtful, effective design solutions.


What You Will Do

  • Design intuitive and effective user experiences across digital platforms
  • Create wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and detailed UI specifications
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, and UX teams to align on user experience goals
  • Facilitate and contribute to design thinking workshops with stakeholders
  • Partner with UX researchers on product discovery, validation, and usability efforts
  • Present design concepts and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience applying user-centered design principles to moderately complex interface challenges
  • 2+ years of experience in visual interface design for web, mobile, or similar platforms
  • 2+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, marketing, business stakeholders)
  • Proven ability to translate customer needs into intuitive design solutions and communicate design rationale effectively
  • Experience working within technology and product development environments
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar

What Sets You Apart

  • Strong portfolio showcasing UI design, user flows, and problem-solving approach
  • Hands-on experience with Figma for design and prototyping
  • Exposure to AI-assisted design or prototyping workflows
  • Experience leveraging UX metrics and research insights to inform design decisions
  • Strong understanding of accessibility, visual hierarchy, and user flows
  • Experience using prototypes, storyboards, and research insights to guide design direction
  • Exposure to designing for complex systems or specialized interfaces (e.g., equipment, in-vehicle, or industrial applications)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
