CFD Engineer – Underbody Systems
Join our innovative automotive engineering team focused on advancing electric motor, power unit, transmission, and axle systems. As a CFD Engineer, you’ll develop and implement advanced computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods to support system design and testing, contributing to virtual tool development and performance validation.
Location: Livonia, MI 48150
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop CAD models and CFD simulations for complex systems and physics (e.g., two-phase flow, turbulence, CHT).
- Translate system requirements into CFD development plans and correlate simulations with physical test data.
- Automate workflows using scripting languages (Java, Python) and present findings to cross-functional teams.
Required Skills & Tools:
- CFD, STAR-CCM+, SPH, turbulence modeling, two-phase flow
- CAD/meshing tools, CAE, Teamcenter, CCM+, scripting (Java, Python)
- Experience with 1D modeling and CFD correlation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 5+ years in CFD modeling and method development, preferably in the automotive industry
Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days/week in office, shifting to 4 days/week starting Sept 1)
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States
