Service Parts Analyst
Location: Franklin TN
Schedule: 6:30-3:30 (Fridays remote)
Compensation: $23.57/hour with benefits
Travel: Occasional day or overnight travel may be required
About the Role
We are seeking a Service Parts Analyst to support the creation, accuracy, and ongoing maintenance of service parts data within the FAST 2000 catalog authoring system. This role plays a critical part in ensuring dealers, parts centers, and export customers have accurate, actionable service parts information to support vehicle service and aftermarket operations.
You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, purchasing, warehousing, marketing, vendors, and pricing teams to define, code, and manage service parts for current vehicle models produced in the NNA region.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain service parts data in the FAST 2000 parts catalog for assigned commodities and vehicle models
- Coordinate cross-functional input to determine optimal service part definitions, including assembly vs. individual component sales
- Ensure ongoing accuracy of the NNA Service Parts Master File (PMF)
- Review new model service parts and engineering running changes for proper catalog establishment
- Interpret CAD data, photos, automotive standards, and dealer operations to develop clear and effective catalog illustrations
- Investigate and resolve technical inquiries from the Dealer Parts Information Center (DPIC), PDCs, and export customers
- Research and prepare materials to support parts stock validation activities
- Determine part supersessions and service files by analyzing engineering data and business/customer impact
- Review parts complexity reduction proposals for technical feasibility, customer satisfaction, and cost-benefit
- Provide backup support for additional commodities as needed
- Consult Analyst I/II or Senior Planner for complex technical or business issues
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of automotive service parts, nomenclature, and national supply & distribution processes
- Working knowledge of the U.S. automotive aftersales market from both business and customer perspectives
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to reconcile conflicting technical inputs
- Ability to interpret and analyze CAD data, drawings, photos, and engineering documentation
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment
Experience Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience in automotive parts sales, marketing, or service
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college preferred
- Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and PC-based applications
- Ability to produce non-standard, creative technical and analytical materials
