Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Coach to lead Safety, Quality, and Productivity initiatives on the production floor. This role is critical to ensuring standardized work is followed, continuous improvement is championed, and team members are empowered to meet operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach and support team members to meet safety, quality, and productivity objectives.
  • Monitor Andon occurrences and act as the first responder for secondary support.
  • Conduct process confirmations to ensure smooth, safe, and quality production.
  • Drive continuous improvement and coach problem-solving at the lowest level.
  • Facilitate team communication and recognition programs.
  • Build capability among Team Leaders and Team Members.
  • Create a positive and productive work environment.
  • Administer basic supervisory documentation and responsibilities.
  • Oversee daily material handling operations, ensuring proper flow from receiving to production and delivery.
  • Allocate resources effectively to support material handling needs.
  • Support Ford Production System and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Lead and manage unionized hourly personnel.
  • Ensure smooth introduction of new parts through proactive planning and cross-functional coordination.
  • Implement Engineering Change Process effectively.
  • Identify and resolve data gaps in CMMS (e.g., missed production counts).

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven supervisory experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Safety experience and Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt).
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Prior experience managing a unionized workforce.
  • Excellent multitasking and independent work capabilities.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Launch experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
