Senior Software Engineer – Data Platform (Connected Vehicle Data)
Location: Dearborn, MI. Hybrid (4 days onsite)
**W2 CONTRACT, NO C2C, NO CORP-TO-CORP**
Overview:
Join our Connected Vehicle Data Enablement (CVDE) team within Global Data Insight and Analytics, where you’ll build scalable data platforms that turn connected vehicle data into actionable insights. This is a highly hands-on role (70–90% coding) focused on developing cloud-based data solutions using Java and Python.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, build, and deploy scalable software solutions using Java & Python
- Develop and maintain cloud-native data platforms on Google Cloud (GCP)
- Build data pipelines and transformation workflows for analytics and engineering use cases
- Lead architecture decisions and provide technical mentorship to team members
- Partner with product managers and stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions
- Improve system reliability with logging, monitoring, and performance optimization
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure using Terraform
Required Skills:
- Java, Python, Spring Boot, SQL
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Distributed systems & object-oriented design
- CI/CD, automated testing, version control
- Observability (monitoring, logging, alerting)
Nice to Have:
- BigQuery, Cloud Run, Dataproc, Airflow
- Angular, Apigee
- Experience with large-scale data platforms or pipelines
- Automotive, telemetry, or manufacturing data experience
- Google Cloud certification
Experience:
- 6+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong background building cloud-based or data-intensive systems
- Proven experience delivering solutions end-to-end (design ? production)
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
