Engineering Technician
? Coal Valley, IL ? $24-$27/hour + Benefits ? Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week ? 100% Onsite
We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician to support testing and validation activities in a laboratory environment. This is a great opportunity for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoy working with tools, troubleshooting equipment, and supporting engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Set up and perform mechanical testing using established procedures
- Install instrumentation, fixtures, and test components
- Collect and document test data using digital and analog equipment
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
- Work closely with engineers and technicians to communicate test progress and results
- Perform test teardown, cleanup, and equipment reset
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems and equipment issues
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience reading schematics and technical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience using power tools and shop equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in a technical field
- Experience with refrigeration systems
- Knowledge of heat transfer principles
- Basic electrical systems knowledge
- PLC experience or exposure
