Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Mapleton, IL
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday-Thursday | 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM (4×10 schedule)
Pay: $35 – $38 an hr
Duration: 12 Months
We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and optimization of advanced foundry manufacturing processes. This is a unique opportunity to work on innovative process development initiatives that combine research, experimentation, and real-world manufacturing execution in a large-scale industrial environment.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes supporting centrifugal casting operations.
- Plan and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to improve process capability and product quality.
- Analyze daily test results, document findings, and recommend process improvements.
- Prepare and commission production equipment for experimental and manufacturing activities.
- Collaborate with operators, engineers, and leadership teams to communicate results, adjustments, and project progress.
- Identify and resolve manufacturing challenges through structured problem-solving techniques.
- Participate in weekly project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support efforts focused on improving safety, product traceability, and cost reduction.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
- Associate’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience will be considered.
- Master’s degree candidates should have at least 2 years of industrial experience.
- 2-4 years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing safety principles.
- Working knowledge of GD&T.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with foundry processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with machining processes.
- Knowledge of Power BI and/or Microsoft Power Apps.
- Experience supporting process development, testing, or continuous improvement initiatives.
