Job Title: Wiring Harness Design Release Engineer
Location: Onsite in Troy, MI
Job Type: W2 Contract – 12 months (possibility of extension or conversion)
Pay: $45-$60/hour (depending on benefits & experience)
Job Summary:
Design, develop, test, and evaluate electronic components and hardware systems for automotive products. Analyze requirements, determine design approaches, conduct testing, and select components based on performance, specifications, and reliability. Requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, and knowledge of product design, manufacturing, testing, and engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with designers to package wiring harnesses in vehicle using Customer design guidelines.
- Support vehicle build events at Customer site.
- Incorporate DFM (Design for Manufacturability) guidelines into the design.
- Support Cost reduction initiatives
- Specify, document, and coordinate engineering changes
- Issue documentation to authorize design changes and track cost
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial preferred)
- 3+ years in automotive industry
- Willing to travel to manufacturing sites in Mexico or other customer sites
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products
