Front End Web Developer (WordPress)
Location: California Residents Only (100% Remote)
Pay: $43 – $45 Per Hour
Job Type: Long Term Contract, W2
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Front End Web Developer with strong WordPress expertise to support the development, migration, optimization, and maintenance of modern websites and user-facing web applications. This role requires a candidate who can lead WordPress initiatives, collaborate with business stakeholders, and deliver responsive, accessible, and high-performing web solutions.
The ideal candidate will have experience with WordPress development, custom themes and plugins, website migrations, responsive design, SEO, and REST APIs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain responsive websites and front-end user interfaces
- Build, customize, and support WordPress websites, themes, and plugins
- Lead website migration and conversion projects from various CMS platforms to WordPress
- Convert design mockups into fully functional WordPress pages
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs
- Troubleshoot cross-browser and front-end performance issues
- Optimize websites for speed, SEO, accessibility, and usability
- Ensure Section 508 compliance standards are met
- Collaborate with stakeholders and business owners to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development environments
- Utilize Git-based version control and modern development practices
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience may be substituted)
- Minimum 4 years of front-end web development experience
- Minimum 5 years of WordPress administration, development, migration, and optimization experience
- At least 3 years of experience leading web projects and communicating directly with business stakeholders
