Job Title: Material Handler
Location: North Reading, Massachusetts (Onsite)
Duration: 3 Month Contract (Potential Extension)
Schedule: 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm ET
Pay Rate: $20.05 per hour
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to support daily warehouse and logistics operations. This role is responsible for processing outgoing shipments, receiving incoming materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring products are labeled and packaged correctly. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, organized, and capable of meeting production goals in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Process and prepare outgoing shipments using shipping software and established procedures.
- Receive, inspect, and accurately document incoming materials and inventory.
- Create and apply shipping labels while ensuring accuracy and compliance with shipping requirements.
- Utilize shipping systems to track packages, generate documentation, and maintain shipment records.
- Meet daily productivity targets of 100 shipments per day or 150 receiving transactions per day.
- Use small hand tools and equipment as needed to support shipping and receiving activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate movement of materials.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow English-language instructions.
- Experience using shipping software or computer-based systems.
- Ability to meet daily shipping and receiving productivity goals.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience using UPS WorldShip software.
- Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience.
- Experience using small hand tools in a production or shipping environment.
- Strong labeling and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
