Electromechanical Build Technician (2nd Shift)

Location: Wilmington, MA (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM EST (2nd Shift)
Job Type: Contract (6 Months)
Potential Extension: Possible based on business needs and performance
Compensation: $40.17/hr W2

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electromechanical Build Technician to support prototype and pre-production hardware builds in a fast-paced engineering environment. This hands-on role involves mechanical and electrical assembly, system integration, quality inspections, and collaboration with engineering teams to bring new products from prototype through validation and testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of subassemblies and full systems
  • Complete final system integration and build activities
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and assembly instructions
  • Prepare assemblies for functional testing and validation
  • Perform quality inspections and dimensional measurements
  • Identify and document build issues, defects, or material shortages
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers
  • Support process improvements and assembly documentation updates
  • Maintain an organized and safe work environment

Education & Experience Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on mechanical and/or electrical assembly experience
  • Experience working with prototype, low-volume, or manufacturing builds
  • Experience using common assembly tools and measuring equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electromechanical Technology, or related field
  • Robotics, aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics experience
  • Experience with motors, gearboxes, encoders, actuators, and drive systems
  • Experience assembling complex electromechanical systems
  • Knowledge of GD&T and metrology tools
  • CMM or 3D scanning experience
  • Experience working in prototype or low-rate production environments
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams
