Job Description:
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Patient Registration Representative to support front-office operations in a healthcare setting. This role is responsible for registering patients, maintaining accurate electronic medical records, collecting payments, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

Register patients accurately and efficiently within the electronic medical records (EMR) system.

Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and contact information.

Collect co-pays, payments, and other applicable fees while maintaining accurate financial records.

Prepare, maintain, and update electronic medical records in accordance with organizational standards and HIPAA regulations.

Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information at all times.

Assist patients with registration forms and answer general questions regarding the registration process.

Gather and enter patient information accurately and completely.

Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.

Manage incoming calls and direct inquiries to appropriate departments.

Maintain accurate documentation and support day-to-day administrative functions within the clinic.
Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum of six (6) months of experience registering patients in an electronic medical records system within a healthcare environment.

Proficiency with computers and data entry.

Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.

Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements.
Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Experience gathering patient information and creating medical records.

Cash handling or cashiering experience.

Certification as a Public Health Worker or Community Health Worker from an accredited institution, or current enrollment in a qualifying program with the ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire.
