We are seeking an experienced Buyer/Purchasing professional to support strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract execution activities. This role will focus on developing supplier strategies, managing RFQs, negotiating agreements, and supporting material handling and logistics automation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong purchasing, negotiation, and supplier relationship management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute supplier strategies for logistics automation and material handling equipment.
- Manage RFQs, evaluate supplier proposals, and lead sourcing activities.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and supplier agreements.
- Review and approve purchase orders, requisitions, and sourcing recommendations.
- Evaluate supplier performance related to cost, quality, delivery, and service.
- Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve delivery, quality, and contract issues.
- Monitor supplier compliance and contract performance.
- Support inventory management and supply chain initiatives.
- Partner closely with engineering, operations, and purchasing teams.
- Travel occasionally to manufacturing locations within Illinois and Indiana.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, or procurement experience.
- Experience developing and managing RFQs.
- Strong contract negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Ability to analyze pricing, supplier proposals, and business data.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business applications.
Preferred Experience:
- Manufacturing, industrial, logistics, or material handling environments.
- Strategic sourcing and supplier development.
- Contract administration and supply base management.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM (flexibility available)
Travel: Up to 25% within Illinois and Indiana
Interview Process: One virtual panel interview.
