Expected hours per week: 40 hours 

Schedule: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) 

Pay Range: $65-75 an hour 

Job Description:
The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and support cloud-native applications and services for Ford’s Connected Consumer and Vehicle platforms. This role focuses on building scalable, resilient microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and modern CI/CD practices while collaborating with architects, security teams, and cross-functional partners to deliver secure, high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
  • Build and deploy scalable infrastructure and platform services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, and related DevOps tools.
  • Create automation scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions for cloud resource provisioning.
  • Design and optimize MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and other database solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Implement secure application architectures utilizing OAuth, identity services, and enterprise security standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, product teams, and security stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
  • Develop automated testing strategies and support continuous delivery practices to improve release quality and speed.
  • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize system reliability and availability.
  • Support cloud modernization initiatives, migration efforts, disaster recovery planning, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, code reviews, backlog refinement, and Jira-based project delivery.
  • Contribute to API design, load testing, threat modeling, documentation, and software engineering best practices.
