Title: Engine Failure Analysis Technician
Location: Henderson, CO
Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite (4 Days/Week)
Duration: 12 Month W2 Contract
Compensation: $43-$45/hr W2
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Engine Failure Analysis Technician to support product engineering and customer support initiatives for a leading global engine manufacturer in Henderson, CO.
This role will be responsible for conducting engine failure investigations, completing core condition reports, determining root causes of component failures, documenting findings, and communicating results to customers and internal stakeholders. The position has a strong focus on diesel engine systems, technical reporting, root cause analysis, and customer-facing technical support.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with engine diagnostics, engine rebuilds, component inspections, and troubleshooting while collaborating with engineering, field support, and customer-facing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Engine Core Condition Reports for customer distribution
- Perform Failure Analysis investigations to determine root causes of engine failures
- Inspect engine components and identify wear patterns and failure modes
- Take and edit technical photographs for customer reports
- Create technical reports using Microsoft Excel and Word
- Communicate findings with customers, branches, and technical support teams
- Support Product Engineering projects through documentation and data collection
- Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues
- Host customer visits and present technical findings when required
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements
- Maintain accurate documentation and technical records
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant industry experience
- Strong knowledge of engine components and systems
- Experience with engine disassembly and assembly
- Root cause analysis and troubleshooting experience
- Ability to identify component wear and damage patterns
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong technical documentation skills
- High-level problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cummins diesel engines
- Familiarity with 45L, 50L, 60L, or 78L engine platforms
- Engine rebuild or overhaul experience
- Field service technician experience
- Heavy equipment or mining equipment experience
- Product troubleshooting experience
- Customer-facing technical support experience
- Manufacturing or industrial equipment background
Work Environment
- Fully onsite in Henderson, CO
- Monday-Thursday schedule
- 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
