Title: Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Location: Gillette, WY
Work Arrangement: Onsite, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Duration: 4-month W2 contract
Compensation: $23 – $24

Role Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will support warehouse and distribution operations at a leading industrial equipment and parts distribution facility in Gillette, WY. This role is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, picking, packing, and shipping parts and materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and adhering to company safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have previous warehouse experience, forklift operating experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced distribution environment. This is a short-term assignment intended to support business operations during a staffing transition. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Unload, receive, inspect, and store incoming shipments while ensuring inventory accuracy.
  • Pick, pack, and ship outgoing orders according to customer requirements and company procedures.
  • Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform inventory transactions, quality inspections, and documentation to maintain accurate records.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and environmental policies while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members to support warehouse operations, continuous improvement initiatives, and business goals.
  • Complete additional shipping, receiving, and warehouse duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations.
  • Forklift operating experience is required.
  • Ability to safely unload, move, store, and ship materials.
  • Experience inspecting and verifying shipments against invoices and shipping documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established operating procedures.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle warehouse materials as required.
  • Flexibility to perform a variety of warehouse and operational support functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory management software.
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling processes.
  • Prior experience supporting parts distribution operations.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification if required.
