Summary
Join a dynamic security engineering team as a Customer Authentication Engineer, where you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing authentication and identity platforms across enterprise environments. This position focuses on ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable authentication systems that protect customers, employees, and organizational data. You will support both on-premise and cloud-based identity solutions, troubleshoot complex security challenges, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cutting-edge authentication technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain identity and authentication platforms across enterprise environments (cloud and on-premise).
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation for authentication and identity systems.
- Provide engineering support for architecture, application development, and production authentication issues.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and integrate third-party authentication and identity tools.
- Design and implement solutions to resolve production-level authentication and security issues.
- Evaluate and implement new authentication technologies to enhance security capabilities.
- Establish protocols to safeguard systems against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.
- Deliver regular technical reports on system performance, issues, and improvements.
- Analyze authentication systems and recommend enhancements aligned with emerging security standards.
- Stay current on Omni-channel authentication trends, digital identity solutions, and cybercrime threats.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations on authentication strategies and improvements.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in Information Security or Technology
OR High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of relevant experience - Strong expertise in customer authentication protocols and frameworks:
- SAML, OAuth, OIDC, JWT
- Strong understanding of identity infrastructure and authentication systems:
- Active Directory, LDAP, RADIUS, NTLM, Kerberos, ADFS
- Solid knowledge of TCP/IP networking and security troubleshooting principles
- Experience with scripting and systems environments:
- Linux/Unix, Windows, Bash, PowerShell, or similar
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues and deliver effective solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Agile methodologies and SDLC tools (Git, Atlassian suite)
- Hands-on experience with cloud environments such as AWS or Azure
- Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript
- Familiarity with FIDO, WebAuthn, OTP, biometrics, and MFA platforms
- Background in financial services environments
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CIAM, or similar
