Location: Hodges, SC
Schedule: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Compensation: $51.00- $55.00 per hour
Work Arrangement: On-Site

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support foundry tooling design and casting process improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment. This position will focus on tooling design, casting simulations, defect analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve quality, efficiency, and manufacturing performance.

Responsibilities

  • Design foundry tooling, patterns, and core boxes using Creo CAD software.
  • Develop tooling solutions for no-bake and cold box molding processes.
  • Support tooling quotation activities and new tooling development projects.
  • Analyze and resolve casting defects through tooling and process improvements.
  • Perform flow simulation analysis using SolidCast or similar software.
  • Review machining drawings and apply GD&T principles.
  • Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing personnel, pattern makers, and suppliers.
  • Provide technical guidance during tooling build and implementation activities.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in foundry engineering, tooling design, casting manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Experience designing foundry tooling, patterns, and core boxes.
  • Strong Creo or similar CAD modeling experience.
  • Experience with casting simulation software, preferably SolidCast.
  • Ability to read machining prints and understand GD&T.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of no-bake and cold box foundry processes.
  • Experience with casting defect analysis and resolution.
  • CNC machining knowledge.
