Epitec is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our automotive client’s team in Detroit, MI. As an Electrical Engineer, the candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and modernization of the plant’s electrical infrastructure.

  • This is an onsite position in Detroit, MI

Top Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, install, and maintain electrical systems supporting plant infrastructure and operations
• Lead and execute facility and infrastructure projects from concept through implementation
• Improve energy efficiency across manufacturing equipment and plant utilities
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and facility-related issues in real-time
• Support and maintain plant systems including boilers, compressors, chillers, HVAC, and electrical distribution (15kV, 480V, 120V)
• Design and implement electrical infrastructure systems and upgrades
• Coordinate work with internal trades, supervisors, and external contractors
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
• Ensure compliance with National Electric Code (NEC) and NFPA 70E standards
• Support facility systems including generators/UPS, life safety, security, and communications infrastructure
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams
• Balance desk and field work (roughly 60/40 split)

Top Qualifications:

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required
• 5+ years of plant or facility engineering experience
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Deep understanding of electrical system layouts and new installations
• Strong knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and electrical safety standards
• Proven problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly in an industrial environment
• Experience with industrial power distribution and facility systems preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and prints
• Understanding of building infrastructure, utilities, and facility operations
• Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with SAP or Maximo is a plus
