Job Description:
Seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop, execute, and automate Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) verification activities for embedded control systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with embedded software validation, dSPACE environments, MATLAB/Simulink, Python automation, and system-level troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute HIL/SIL verification test plans for embedded control systems and ECUs.
- Configure, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain dSPACE and Vector-based test environments.
- Create and enhance automated test scripts, reporting tools, and data collection processes using Python and related automation frameworks.
- Investigate software and hardware defects, perform root-cause analysis, and support system-level verification activities.
- Collaborate with software developers, controls engineers, and validation teams to ensure successful product delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience in embedded software verification, validation, or testing.
- Hands-on experience with HIL/SIL validation testing and dSPACE toolchains.
- Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and model-based development concepts.
- Experience with Python automation, test scripting, gtest C++, and embedded software verification.
- Knowledge of CAN/J1939 communication protocols, UDS diagnostics, and Vector tools such as CANoe or CANalyzer.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot hardware and software integration issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ECU integration, fault injection, and validation reporting tools.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle processes, version control systems, and automated test framework development.
- Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, and system integration experience within embedded control systems.
