Software Engineer, Embedded OS
Location: Cary, NC (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $57.00 – $61.00/hour
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: Long-term Contract

About the Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer, Embedded OS to support the development and enhancement of tools that improve efficiency, automation, and user experience within an embedded software development environment. This role will work closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to support embedded operating system development, drive innovation, and help define next-generation development tools used across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain tools and scripts that improve embedded software development workflows.
- Support engineers through troubleshooting, user support, and technical guidance.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver software solutions.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives for embedded development tools.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements through validation and deployment.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, maintainable software solutions.
- Work within Agile development environments to support product delivery and team objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as C#, C++, or Java.
- Strong experience with object-oriented software design and programming in C.
- Understanding of the embedded software development lifecycle, including requirements, development, testing, and validation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python and GNU Make.
- Knowledge of CAN and UDS communication protocols.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
- Master’s degree or other advanced degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Experience supporting embedded operating systems or embedded software toolchains.
