Job Title: Controls Testing Specialist
Location: Dearborn, MI
Job Type: W2 Contract
Expected hours per week: 40 hours per week
Schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST
Pay: $44 to $46 per hour

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic In-Station Process Control & Test Diagnostics Specialist to lead the strategy, implementation, and execution of in-station process control and testing systems throughout key program development milestones. This role plays a critical part in ensuring manufacturing quality, testing effectiveness, and diagnostic system performance across vehicle production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of in-station process control and testing strategies.
  • Support program development milestones by implementing and maintaining diagnostic and testing systems.
  • Drive process improvements and failure prevention initiatives using PFMEA and Failure Mode Avoidance principles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, IT, and plant operations.
  • Support manufacturing launches, production readiness activities, and plant installations.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot diagnostic, testing, and communication issues.
  • Provide technical guidance related to plant information systems, controls, and testing infrastructure.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and automotive repair processes.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware, software, and wireless communication technologies.
  • Advanced computer skills, including:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • PowerPoint
    • Web-based reporting systems
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of:
    • PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
    • Failure Mode Avoidance methodologies

Preferred Technical Experience

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are highly preferred:

  • End-of-Line (EOL) testing
  • Electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • PLCs and industrial controls
  • Factory Information Systems (FIS)
  • Plant communication networks
  • Wi-Fi 6E technologies
  • Automotive manufacturing and vehicle launch activities
  • Systems engineering (mechanical and electrical disciplines)

Required Experience

  • Automotive manufacturing experience.

  • Supplier project management experience.
  • Product development experience involving:
    • Electrical systems
    • Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS)
    • Module design
  • Product development experience related to:
    • Powertrain systems
    • Chassis systems
  • Familiarity with plant IT infrastructure, including network architecture and server applications.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
