Summary
Join a dynamic team as an Instructional Designer supporting a technical training department in developing high-quality, interactive eLearning solutions. This role focuses on designing and delivering engaging, user-friendly online training modules aligned with learning management system standards. You will partner with project teams and subject matter experts to translate training needs into effective digital learning experiences using modern instructional design methodologies and tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct needs analysis to identify training gaps and determine appropriate instructional strategies and tools
- Design and develop self-paced eLearning modules aligned with organizational training initiatives
- Create interactive online training content including simulations, assessments, certifications, and knowledge checks
- Apply sound instructional design principles to ensure engaging and effective learning experiences
- Collaborate with project teams, technical trainers, and subject matter experts to gather requirements and validate content
- Develop professional, user-friendly training materials including scripts, storyboards, and job aids
- Utilize LMS platforms to deploy, manage, and track training completion and performance metrics
- Support video and audio production for training content using recording equipment and editing tools
- Ensure training materials align with organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practices
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Human Resources, or related field
- Minimum 3+ years of instructional design and/or technical writing experience
- Minimum 3+ years of experience designing and developing eLearning courses
- Minimum 1+ year of experience supporting or administering a corporate LMS (Cornerstone OnDemand preferred)
- Hands-on experience with eLearning authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, or similar)
- Proficiency with Adobe tools including Acrobat Pro and technical suite applications
- Experience with video and audio production tools (camera, microphone, editing tools)
- Strong experience with script writing, storyboarding, and training development
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of instructional design and/or technical writing experience
- 5+ years of experience designing and developing eLearning courses
- 2+ years of LMS administration experience
- Experience managing multiple learning projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, Kirkpatrick evaluation methods)
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts
- Experience creating visually engaging job aids and training materials
- Strong project planning skills with ability to provide updates and timelines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong analytical skills including working with training metrics, ratios, and percentages
