Position Overview/Summary:
As a Rating Specialist in Commercial Lines Service Operations, you are responsible for determining the premium for risks using automated and/or manual methods. In addition, you are responsible for processing subsequent transactions and the issuance of policies using a variety of systems and resources including, but not limited to POS, PMS, ACT, Policy Creator, Microsoft Excel, and iBank. Work completed by these individuals must meet quality and service standards.

- Career Development: 4-6 months temp-to-hire employment with comprehensive job training and continued mentorship.
- Starting Pay: $21.00/hour. Conversion salary is $45,000 upon hire.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM during training, with potential to move to 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM after training. Hybrid requirement is 2-3 days per week in office starting week 5.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
- Develop knowledge of rating 1-3 lines of business using automated and/or manual methods.
- Complete timely and accurate issuance of commercial lines policies, quotes, endorsements, and subsequent transactions.
- Partner with Underwriters and Underwriting Technicians to deliver timely and accurate products to agents and insureds.
- Rate and issue policies using automated systems (POS, PMS, ACT) and manual methods.
- Handle new business, renewals, quotes, endorsements, non-renewals, rewrites, cancellations, report values, and registry transactions for small and middle market business.
- Interpret issuance and rating instructions from Underwriters.
- Provide customer service support by handling inquiries, resolving errors, and addressing requests.
- Stay current with compliance requirements, procedural updates, and system or workflow changes.
- Build strong working relationships with underwriting teams.
- Support high-priority requests and error resolution.
- Coordinate issuance activities when assigned as the “Account Owner” for package policies.
- Participate in projects, focus groups, and mentoring activities as assigned.

- Timely, accurate completion of transactions while meeting quality standards.
- Maintenance of rating transaction knowledge and workflow accuracy.
Position Requirements:
- Associate degree preferred but not required; 2+ years of relevant insurance industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
