Inventory Analyst

18-Month Contract
Pay: $25 – $27 an hr
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Analyst 2 to support inventory accuracy, reconciliation, and audit activities at a large-scale distribution and processing facility in Houston, TX. This role is ideal for professionals with a background in inventory control, record accuracy, warehouse operations, supply chain, or materials management who enjoy investigating discrepancies, analyzing data, and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inventory reconciliations related to overages, shortages, supplier discrepancies, receipt issues, returns, and shipment errors.
- Conduct physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and scheduled inventory audits.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and identify root causes.
- Document and communicate corrective actions to supply chain and operations teams.
- Research inventory transactions and historical material movements within SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Support inventory accuracy initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party logistics (3PL) partners to resolve inventory issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure compliance with established inventory control processes.
Required Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in inventory control, inventory management, warehouse operations, record accuracy, materials management, or a related field.
- Experience performing inventory audits, reconciliations, cycle counts, or discrepancy investigations.
- Working knowledge of SAP, ERP systems, or inventory management software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while building strong working relationships across teams.

Position Details

- Duration: 18 Months
- Work Environment: Office and warehouse setting with interaction across operations and logistics teams
