IT Quality/Test Engineer 4

Location: Mossville, IL (Peoria Area)
Schedule: Full-time, onsite (Monday-Friday)
Duration: 24-month contract
Compensation: $47-50/hr plus medical, dental, vision, PTO, and 401(k) match

We are seeking an IT Quality/Test Engineer 4 to join an Agile software team developing an Operator Monitoring System focused on detecting operator fatigue and distraction. This role will work directly alongside developers, systems engineers, and architects to ensure high-quality software through robust automated testing and validation.

Responsibilities

  • Define test cases based on software requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Execute software testing and document results.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python.
  • Collaborate with developers and architects to improve software quality and testability.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including standups, refinement sessions, and planning activities.
  • Troubleshoot issues, analyze test results, and provide detailed feedback to the development team.
  • Support primarily Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing with limited Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Software Development, or a related discipline.
  • 7-10 years of software testing, validation, or test automation experience.
  • Strong Python automation experience.
  • Linux experience.
  • GitHub experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and technical writing skills.
  • Experience creating test cases and documenting test results.
  • Ability to work onsite and relocate to the Peoria area if needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Playwright or other UI automation frameworks.
  • Experience with GStreamer, camera feeds, or machine vision systems.
  • SIL/HIL testing experience.
  • Automotive, autonomy, robotics, or safety-critical software experience.
  • Experience with Gherkin or BDD methodologies.
