IT Technical Aid

Location: City of Industry, CA
Work Arrangement: Onsite with travel to multiple work locations
Contract Duration: Short-term project, approximately 1–3 months, W2
Pay: $23/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking an IT Technical Aid to provide hands-on technical and operational support within a centralized IT environment. This position works alongside experienced IT professionals and assists with basic technical support, troubleshooting, equipment installation, systems testing, printing operations, and other routine IT tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide basic technical support to system users and departmental staff.
  • Identify, track, document, research, and assist with resolving IT issues and service requests.
  • Follow established procedures for escalating high-priority technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues.
  • Assist IT professionals with routine system testing and production activities.
  • Review and validate user manuals, procedures, and instructional materials.
  • Support medium-sized office printers and high-speed commercial printers.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of:
    • Desktop computers
    • Video display terminals
    • Printers
    • Cabling
    • Other related IT hardware
  • Follow established technical procedures and directions.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of highly specialized clerical experience in an information systems environment.
  • Experience using or installing desktop software and/or operating high-speed commercial printers.
  • Experience or knowledge in:
    • Customer service
    • Hardware and software troubleshooting
    • Problem solving
    • Decision making
    • Verbal and written communication
    • Organization and following established procedures

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend as required.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment or supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to safely handle office and IT equipment.

Travel & Transportation Requirements

  • Regular travel to multiple work locations is required.
  • Candidates must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
  • Mileage reimbursement is not provided.
  • Candidates will be required to use their own cell phone, and phone expenses or additional charges are not reimbursed.

Additional Information

This is a short-term project expected to last approximately 1–3 months. The position is ideal for someone with experience in an IT or information systems environment who is comfortable providing onsite technical assistance, troubleshooting equipment, supporting printing operations, and traveling between work locations.
