Associate Project Manager – Marketing

Hours: 30-40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $35.00 – $42.00/hr.

Position Overview

As a Project Manager within the Marketing PMO, you will focus on the execution of marketing programs and campaigns by supporting Program Managers and Senior Project Managers on high-volume initiatives from strategy through delivery. This role will also independently manage multiple mid-level projects, ensuring delivery on time and within scope.

Responsibilities include monitoring forecasted work, supporting media execution activities, managing projects from initiation through delivery, communicating project status, and developing post-project recaps.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning

  • Support planning efforts by helping outline forecasted marketing work.
  • Assist Program Managers and Senior Project Managers with campaign planning as needed.

Project Lifecycle Management

  • Support complex, high-volume programs and campaigns by managing executional projects across various marketing channels.
  • Ensure project requirements and scope are aligned with priorities and workflows.
  • Develop project schedules outlining milestones, timelines, deadlines, and resource requirements.
  • Monitor timelines and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Facilitate project approvals with internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and proactively resolve schedule risks.
  • Communicate project status, approvals, risks, and delivery updates to stakeholders.
  • Schedule and facilitate project meetings, including kickoffs, creative reviews, stand-ups, risk mitigation sessions, and retrospectives.
  • Coordinate with production suppliers to ensure project deliverables are completed when applicable.
  • Ensure project closeout and archiving procedures are completed.

Project Execution & Ownership

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of projects, including single-channel initiatives and multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Take ownership of projects with minimal oversight while ensuring alignment to business goals.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and ambiguous situations while maintaining project momentum.

Project Management System Coordination

  • Manage project activities and documentation within PMO systems from project creation through closeout.
  • Ensure project requirements, schedules, approvals, and documentation are maintained within systems.
  • Manage data entry and system updates to support project execution.
  • Utilize reporting tools to analyze and communicate project trends and insights.
  • Recommend process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Support PMO process standardization through workflow documentation and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications

Systems & Tools

  • Hands-on experience with Workfront, including:
    • Creating and updating tasks
    • Managing timelines and dependencies
    • Navigating project templates
  • Ability to discuss specific Workfront workflows and usage.

Project Management Experience

  • Experience managing projects within marketing, advertising, design, or related environments.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders including Creative, Brand, CRM, and Merchandising-related teams.
  • Retail marketing experience preferred.

Marketing Channel Knowledge

  • Understanding of multiple marketing channels.
  • Experience working within a queue-based or cross-program assignment model.

Professional Skills

  • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate project status, risks, and solutions.
  • Ability to maintain deadlines and prioritize effectively under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management experience within Marketing Operations.
  • Retail marketing experience including seasonal campaigns and fiscal calendar planning.
