Summary
Join a high-performing operations team as a Maintenance Team Leader / Supervisor III, where you will lead skilled trades personnel and drive maintenance execution, safety, and operational efficiency. This role is responsible for supervising union maintenance teams, supporting preventive maintenance initiatives, and ensuring production equipment operates at optimal performance. You will serve as the key liaison between maintenance staff and leadership, while maintaining safety, quality, and cost standards across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead union skilled trades teams including electricians, pipefitters, and mechanics to ensure maintenance and production goals are achieved.
- Assign and manage daily and short-term work schedules to meet operational timelines and expectations.
- Partner with senior maintenance leadership to maintain cost structures and optimize maintenance operations.
- Conduct weekly preventive maintenance audits to improve equipment reliability and maintenance effectiveness.
- Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and support formal performance management processes.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex equipment and system issues, ensuring timely resolution of maintenance needs.
- Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards while fostering a strong safety culture.
- Identify and address risks, unsafe behaviors, and compliance issues, escalating when necessary.
- Operate and oversee complex systems and machinery, driving process improvements and efficiency gains.
- Contribute to reporting, data tracking, and analytics related to maintenance and operational performance.
- Communicate departmental goals and align team efforts with broader organizational strategy and objectives.
- Support team development, technical guidance, and ongoing operational improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift and support overtime as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Maintenance, or a related field.
- Experience supervising or leading maintenance or production teams in an industrial environment.
- Ability to lead union workforce and collaborate effectively with skilled trades personnel.
- Experience supporting preventive maintenance programs and maintenance operations.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- SAP experience or similar enterprise systems exposure.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and/or electrical systems.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate facility equipment (e.g., utility vehicles such as a gator).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Background in engineering or technical disciplines.
- Experience leading maintenance audits and driving process improvements.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in reporting and maintenance data analysis.
- Demonstrated success in promoting and sustaining a maintenance safety culture.
