Location: Mossville, IL (Onsite)
Duration: 24-Month Contract + possible extension 
Pay Rate: $34.00 – $37.00/hour
Travel: Up to 25% Domestic Travel

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the development, analysis, and validation of cooling systems for advanced equipment used in construction, mining, power generation, marine, and electrification applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cooling system analysis using 1-D and 3-D simulation tools.
  • Develop and optimize cooling system layouts, component sizing, and heat exchanger selection.
  • Conduct CFD simulations to evaluate airflow, thermal performance, and cooling effectiveness.
  • Support product development teams with technical recommendations and design improvements.
  • Collaborate with testing and validation teams to correlate simulation results with physical testing.
  • Investigate cooling-related performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing technical requirements, specifications, and engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience with cooling system analysis and product development.
  • Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
  • Experience using CFD and engineering simulation tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Fluent, Star-CCM+, or OpenFOAM.
  • Experience using GT-Suite or other 1-D simulation tools.
  • Creo or other CAD software experience.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, powertrain cooling, or electrification systems.
  • Programming experience with Python, C++, or Java.
  • Master’s degree in a related engineering field.
