Network Operations Support Technician (3rd Shift)
Location: Montgomery, Alabama
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Contract Duration: 6 months, with opportunity for extension or conversion – W2
Schedule: 3rd shift, 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
Pay: $20/hr
Position Overview
We are seeking a Network Operations Support Technician to join a 24/7 technical operations team responsible for monitoring and supporting enterprise network infrastructure. This role focuses on network monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, ticket management, and ensuring the reliability and availability of voice and data services across a large-scale network environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with networking, service desk, or technical support experience who are interested in working in a fast-paced operations environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network alarms, alerts, and system events to ensure network availability and service continuity.
- Investigate and troubleshoot network-related incidents affecting voice and data services.
- Create, update, and maintain incident, problem, request, change, and configuration records within a ticketing system.
- Analyze network performance data, reports, and system monitoring tools to identify service issues and trends.
- Open and track trouble tickets and coordinate with technical support teams and vendors to resolve issues.
- Document troubleshooting activities, resolutions, and corrective actions.
- Escalate critical incidents when necessary and provide timely communication on service impacts.
- Support continuous network operations in a shift-based environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of LAN/WAN support or network maintenance experience.
- Minimum 1 year of service desk, help desk, call center, or technical support experience.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of network troubleshooting concepts related to voice and data circuits.
- Experience using incident management or ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA Network+ certification.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and operational support environments.
- Familiarity with VPN, wireless, and enterprise network technologies.
Schedule
- Full-time onsite position.
- Overnight 3rd shift schedule: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM.
- Initial training includes:
- 2 weeks on 2nd shift
- 2 weeks on 1st shift
- Rotating schedule:
- 10 days on / 4 days off
- 5 days on / 2 days off
- Schedule then repeats
- Must be available for weekends and holidays as part of a 24/7 operations team.
