About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This position is responsible for supervising UAW-represented employees, ensuring inbound and outbound material flow, maintaining safety and productivity standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can motivate teams, manage priorities, analyze performance data, and ensure delivery commitments are met while maintaining a safe and efficient workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead UAW hourly employees in daily warehouse operations.
- Ensure timely processing and putaway of inbound materials.
- Coordinate outbound order fulfillment and delivery schedules.
- Monitor productivity, quality, inventory accuracy, and safety performance.
- Drive operational improvements using Lean principles and best practices.
- Review operational metrics and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Foster a positive team environment while managing employee performance and attendance.
- Resolve employee concerns and effectively manage workplace conflict.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and union agreements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to meet customer and operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate reporting and documentation utilizing warehouse systems and Microsoft Office tools.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading UAW or unionized employees.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and Lean concepts.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and alternate shifts as business needs require.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with SAP or other Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Knowledge of inventory management and warehouse slotting/layout strategies.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience meeting inbound and outbound shipping deadlines in a high-volume environment.
