Programmer Specialist (Oracle PL/SQL Developer)

Pay Range: $50-$55/hr

Epitec is seeking a Programmer Specialist for a fully remote opportunity supporting enterprise data warehouse and database application initiatives. This role is ideal for a senior-level Oracle developer with strong expertise in PL/SQL, SQL optimization, ETL processes, data warehousing, production support, and data quality validation.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex Oracle database applications while collaborating with technical teams, business users, analysts, and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Oracle database applications and data-processing solutions.
- Design and support PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and stored program units.
- Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries and database performance.
- Support ETL processing, data integration, transformation, and batch-loading operations.
- Monitor and validate data loads while investigating and resolving data quality issues.
- Troubleshoot production incidents and identify root causes of application and database defects.
- Perform unit, integration, regression, and data-validation testing.
- Support data warehouse environments, reporting structures, and reconciliation processes.
- Create technical documentation and participate in design, code, and deployment reviews.
- Collaborate with developers, DBAs, analysts, project managers, and business users.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of application development, database programming, and production support experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Oracle database development experience.
- Advanced SQL and PL/SQL skills.
- Experience developing packages, procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Strong experience with ETL processing and data integration.
- Experience supporting data warehouse environments.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues and database performance bottlenecks.
- Experience with source control, deployments, and SDLC best practices.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Experience
- Data warehouse design and reporting environments.
- Data reconciliation and data-quality validation.
- Performance tuning and query optimization.
- Production support and incident management.
- Working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
