Cost Analyst III

Location: Fully Remote (Must reside in an eligible work state)

We are seeking a Cost Analyst III  to support large-scale construction projects through effective cost control, forecasting, contract monitoring, and project controls administration. This individual will serve as a primary project cost controller, partnering with project teams and leadership to ensure project costs are accurately tracked, analyzed, and reported.

The ideal candidate will have experience with construction project controls, cost forecasting, contract management, and financial reporting. Strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Track, monitor, and control project costs for one or more construction projects
  • Review and process invoices, contractor costs, and project-related expenditures
  • Administer project change control documentation and cost tracking processes
  • Perform cost forecasting and variance analysis
  • Support project controls reporting and data management activities
  • Monitor and control engineering and construction contracts
  • Review and interpret project schedules to support cost forecasting activities
  • Maintain project cost records and generate reports for project teams and leadership
  • Ensure compliance with project controls methodologies, procedures, and documentation requirements
  • Communicate project cost information effectively with project stakeholders and management
  • Prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in project cost control, project controls, construction cost management, or related disciplines
  • Experience supporting large-scale construction or capital projects
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Cost forecasting
    • Project controls methodologies
    • Construction contracts
    • Accounting and financial principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret project schedules
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Construction Management
    • Project Management
    • Engineering
    • Business
    • Accounting
    • Finance
  • Experience implementing project controls programs on large-scale construction projects
  • Experience managing costs across multiple projects or portfolios
  • SAP experience
  • PMI and/or AACE certifications

  • Demonstrated experience with project cost forecasting and reporting
  • Ability to monitor contractor and project expenditures effectively
  • Experience supporting the planning and execution of project controls programs
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to thrive in a remote work environment while managing deadlines and stakeholder expectations
