Location: East Peoria, IL (Building KK)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Work Arrangement: On-Site, 5 Days/Week
Pay rate: up to 35/hr
About the Opportunity
Epitec is partnering with Caterpillar to identify an experienced Project/Program Manager to support strategic sourcing and supplier transition initiatives. This role will lead projects focused on supplier selection, supplier development, new source introductions, and sourcing transitions that directly impact Caterpillar’s quality, cost, logistics, and delivery objectives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in purchasing, supply chain, and program management within a manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead sourcing projects involving supplier transitions and new supplier implementation initiatives.
- Coordinate cross-functional project activities and develop detailed project plans to achieve business objectives.
- Manage supplier selection, source approval, supplier development, and PPAP activities.
- Present project updates, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Analyze resource requirements, supplier capabilities, and project feasibility.
- Collaborate with purchasing, supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, and business teams.
- Monitor project timelines, risks, deliverables, and execution milestones.
- Review project costs, budgets, and estimates while supporting strategic sourcing decisions.
- Drive successful implementation of new suppliers while minimizing business disruption.
- Ensure projects meet quality, cost, logistics, and delivery expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in project management, purchasing, supply chain, or related areas.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing, supplier management, procurement, or supply chain operations.
- Experience with project management methodologies and project execution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or PMI certification.
- Six Sigma experience or certification.
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) or New Source Introduction (NSI) programs.
- Supplier development and PPAP experience.
- Background in heavy manufacturing, industrial, or automotive industries.
- Prior experience supporting strategic sourcing initiatives.
