Job Summary
This role supports machine validation efforts through hands-on testing of thermal and fluid systems. The position plans, sets up, executes, and documents tests, analyzes results, and communicates findings and recommendations to product design teams. The role operates in a highly collaborative, hands-on engineering environment and is ideal for candidates seeking to build deep technical expertise in machine systems while working closely with experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, set up, and execute cooling and thermodynamic system tests on large machines.
  • Analyze test data, document results, and provide clear recommendations to design teams.
  • Prepare and install instrumentation such as thermocouples, pressure transducers, and flow meters.
  • Collaborate closely with cooling engineers, machine validation engineers, and machine operators during test execution.
  • Participate in test planning, design reviews, and documentation through cross-functional meetings (often virtual).
  • Support experienced engineers with test setup and execution while progressively taking ownership of planning and delivering projects.
  • Perform hands-on physical work including instrumentation setup, troubleshooting, climbing machines, and using hand tools safely.

Years of Experience and Education

  • 5–7 years of relevant engineering experience (internships accepted as experience).
  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline that includes Thermodynamics and Fluid Dynamics (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar).
  • Backgrounds such as Cooling Test Engineer or related validation/testing roles are considered comparable.

Skills Required

  • Strong understanding of thermodynamic and fluid systems.
  • Experience with instrumentation such as thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, and their application.
  • High initiative and ability to take ownership of work.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team environment.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude, including effective and safe use of hand tools.
  • Ability to perform physical work in test bays and outdoor environments.
