Supply Management Specialist (CI Buyer)

Location: Kernersville, NC (Onsite – 5 Days/Week)
Pay Rate: $32.00 – $34.00 per hour
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Potential for Extension: Yes, contract may be extended based on business needs and performance.

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Supply Management Specialist to support supplier management, cost reduction initiatives, and engineering change implementation within a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for candidates with supply chain, procurement, or purchasing experience who enjoy driving projects, collaborating with suppliers, and working cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cost reduction and risk mitigation projects to support business objectives.
  • Coordinate engineering change activities to ensure smooth implementation of product and design changes.
  • Work closely with suppliers and engineering teams to improve product quality while minimizing overall costs.
  • Develop project plans, communicate milestones, and track execution through completion.
  • Analyze supplier performance, pricing, and operational data using Excel and other reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supply chain issues and implement process improvements.
  • Support sourcing, procurement, and supplier relationship management activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in supply chain, procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supplier management.
  • Strong project coordination or project management experience.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of supply chain or procurement experience.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships.
  • Manufacturing or factory environment experience.
  • Experience supporting Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), or related processes.
  • Cost reduction and continuous improvement project experience.
