We’re hiring a Workers’ Compensation Plant Rep III to serve as the primary Workers’ Compensation claims handler onsite at Ford’s Chicago Assembly Plant. This plant?based role focuses on Illinois Workers’ Compensation Lost Time claims, complex case management, and cost containment, while delivering a high level of customer service to plant employees and stakeholders.
This is a hands?on opportunity for an experienced Workers’ Compensation professional who excels in managing higher?severity claims in a fast?paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Handle a full caseload of Illinois Workers’ Compensation claims, including Lost Time and complex claims.
- Investigate claims and gather information to determine exposure and claim strategy.
- Develop and manage action plans to ensure timely, cost?effective claim resolution.
- Set, evaluate, and adjust claim reserves throughout the life of each claim.
- Calculate, approve, and issue benefit payments and claim adjustments within authority limits.
- Prepare and submit required Illinois state workers’ compensation filings within statutory timelines.
- Coordinate vendor referrals for investigation, medical management, and litigation support.
- Apply cost containment strategies and manage claim recoveries, including subrogation and excess reporting.
- Communicate claim status and decisions with claimants, plant leadership, and internal partners.
- Ensure accurate documentation, coding, and compliance across all claim files.
- Escalate cases appropriately to supervisors and management.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3–5 years of Illinois Workers’ Compensation claims management experience.
- Proven experience handling Lost Time claims.
- Ability to manage complex or higher?severity cases independently.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working fully onsite in a manufacturing/plant environment.
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Prior experience supporting a manufacturing or industrial facility.
- Experience working with excess carriers or litigation management.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
