Quality Engineer
Job Type: W2, Contract
Job Location: 100% Onsite, Ankeny, IA
- Shift: 3rd Shift (9:30 PM – 6:00 AM)
- Training Shift: Day Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) – duration depends on candidate experience
- Overtime/Weekends: May be required
- Safety Gear: Safety shoes with internal metatarsal protection required
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Pay Rate: $36 – $38 an hour

Job Duties:
- Provide quality planning, control, and improvement support across product development, manufacturing, and supply management
- Apply quality tools within EPDP and EOFP processes
- Support quality planning with key suppliers
- Review warranty data and prioritize manufacturing issues
- Analyze Defects Per Unit (DPU) reports and daily quality metrics
- Contain known inspection issues and create Temporary Deviations
- Create and distribute Change Notices
- Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Non-Conformance Corrective Actions (NCCA)
- Attend and lead Final Product Audit Reviews and Corrective Actions
- Monitor SPC data and investigate out-of-control conditions
- Ensure execution and updates of control plans
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant work experience
- 1–3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer preferred (recent graduates will be considered)
- Strong skills in Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action (8D)
- Production floor experience
Knowledge of:
- Mistake Proofing Techniques
- Control Plans and PFMEAs
- Manufacturing Statistical Methods (Control Charting / Capability Analysis)
