Jerry started Epitec over 35 years ago after his company at the time asked him to move his family across the country to open a new branch office. But his entrepreneurial spirit kicked in and he figured if he could start a new business for someone else, he certainly could do it for himself.
That strong business sense started early for Jerry. At age 11, he started a paper route servicing 27 customers. Before too long, his route grew to 92 customers, learning all the while that great service makes all the difference.
With Epitec, he had the vision to realize that the technology industry was going to explode and he wanted to be a part of it.
That same vision and relentless spirit still fuels Jerry today, which is one reason Epitec remains so current, relevant and cutting edge. “We are in a business where the only constant is change,” Jerry says. “Epitec must continually adapt and stay ahead of the curve.”
But at the end of the day, Jerry believes it all comes down to service. In that regard his philosophy is simple. “Don’t meet client expectations,” he says, “exceed them. Time and time again.”
To Jerry, the company mantra of “Placing People First” isn’t just a slogan, it’s the cornerstone of our culture, whether we’re talking about our staff, our talent pool or our clients.
And while we, and our clients, think a lot of Jerry, his influence extends far beyond our walls. Jerry has been recognized as one of the “50 Most Influential Minorities in Business” by the Minority Business & Professionals Network. He was also honored as one of “100 Emerging Business Leaders,” and a “Diversity Business Leader,” by Corp! magazine.
Or in our world…our Head Visionary Honcho.
