Summary

Join the Enterprise Procurement team as a Contracting Specialist and play a key role in developing and executing contract negotiation strategies for services and IT software. This position focuses on negotiating commercial agreements, ensuring regulatory and compliance requirements are met, and strengthening vendor and internal stakeholder relationships. You will partner cross?functionally to mitigate risk, drive contract performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute contract negotiation strategies for services and IT software
  • Negotiate Statements of Work (SOWs), Amendments, Master Agreements, and supplier paper
  • Lead negotiations for regulatory and compliance-related agreements, including BAAs and government services contracts
  • Prepare contractual provisions, administer contract proposals, and issue purchase orders
  • Evaluate contract requests, identify risks, and develop fact-based negotiation approaches
  • Ensure contract compliance with PHI, PII, and BAA requirements
  • Develop and manage service level agreements (SLAs) and ensure pricing aligns with sourced agreements
  • Create reporting, metrics, and performance tracking related to contracts and vendor performance
  • Partner with Legal, Audit, Insurance, Procurement, and business stakeholders to align on negotiation strategies
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Procurement Consultants, and Specialists on contracting initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience developing negotiation strategies and managing master contracts
  • 2+ years of experience negotiating contracts for services
  • 2+ years of IT software contracting experience
  • 2+ years of contract strategy management experience
  • Experience negotiating SOWs, Amendments, Master Agreements, and supplier contracts
  • Experience with regulatory and compliance-related contracts (e.g., BAAs, government services)
  • Strong ability to identify risk and assemble fact-based negotiation cases

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Juris Doctorate preferred
  • 4+ years of contract negotiation experience preferred
  • 2+ years negotiating business contractual terms; legal contractual experience preferred
  • Experience with negotiation strategy planning, analysis, and review of existing contracts
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced contract review skills and intermediate problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency with procurement systems and industry-standard applications
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) certification preferred
  • Institute of Supply Management (I.S.M.) affiliation preferred
  • Contract Management Certification preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with strong execution and ownership mindset
