Job Description
Summary:
The main function of a logistics planning analyst is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. A typical planning analyst is responsible for reviewing and distributing production, work and shipment schedules and compiling reports on inventory levels, cost, etc.

Job Responsibilities:
• Examine documents, materials and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy and conformation to standards and specifications.

• Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.

• Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.

• Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.

Skills:
• Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor and materials.

• Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.

• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.

• Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Education/Experience:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years related experience required.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:

  • Support Trade Operations team by providing frontline assistance to resolve issues related to US trade processes. This role is responsible for monitoring trade tickets/case Helpdesk queues, responding to user inquiries, resolving issues, and escalating higher-tier problems to senior analysts or business teams. This person will troubleshoot system, application, and data-related issues, use of basic SQL while maintaining accurate documentation, updating procedures, and contributing to root cause analysis efforts to ensure smooth and timely movement of freight as related to US Imports/Exports.

Typical task breakdown:

  • The person will provide day-to-day support coverage for the Traffic Help Desk by actively monitoring the trade issue queue and responding to requests during agreed support hours. This includes triaging new tickets, prioritizing based on business impact to Import & Export shipments, communicating status updates to end users both internal & external to users as needed, and ensuring tickets resolution steps/details are accurately logged with required details (issue description, category, severity, timestamps, and user impact) to maintain operational continuity. The person will perform Root Cause Corrective Actions on common, repetitive issues by analyzing ticket trends, identifying patterns, and documenting likely root causes and corrective actions. This includes recommending procedural changes, user communications, configuration adjustments, or training opportunities that reduce repeat volume and improve time-to-resolution. The consultant will provide periodic summaries (e.g., weekly or monthly) that highlight top issue drivers, actions taken, results observed, and improvement opportunities, and support-related projects as assigned.
