Job Summary
The Procurement Specialist – Indirect Services is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing suppliers supporting corporate services and indirect spend categories. This role drives end-to-end procurement activities, ensures alignment with business priorities, and executes strategic sourcing initiatives while maintaining compliance, cost efficiency, and supplier performance standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage supplier relationships supporting corporate services and indirect spend categories.
- Prioritize and execute procurement activities to align with business and program needs.
- Develop and issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Quote (RFQs); perform price and cost analyses.
- Lead negotiations and develop sourcing strategies for service-based agreements and indirect goods.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage contracting vehicles including MSAs, SOWs, SLAs, and long-term agreements.
- Own the full procurement lifecycle from requisition through invoice payment and issue resolution.
- Implement and manage strategic sourcing initiatives across categories such as professional services, consulting, marketing, travel, HR services, and contingent labor.
- Ensure supplier deliverables meet quality, performance, budget, and timeline expectations.
- Monitor procurement metrics and drive data-informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices.
Years of Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field with 5+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, OR
- Master’s degree in a related field with 3+ years of procurement or supply chain experience
Skills Required
- Experience with ERP and procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, Costpoint, Coupa, or Ariba
- Strong background in sourcing and managing indirect services categories (e.g., consulting, marketing, IT/software, travel, HR services, contingent labor)
- Proven experience negotiating service agreements, including MSAs and SOWs
- Knowledge of contract types such as Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and Time & Materials (T&M)
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in ambiguous environments
- Experience with supplier compliance, risk management, and services-related regulations (e.g., data privacy, co-employment considerations)
- Ability to develop and interpret procurement documentation including SLAs and scope definitions
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
