Electronics Technician (Test & Validation)
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
PPE Required: Metatarsal boots required on Day 1
Location: 225 International Drive Morrisville North Carolina 27560-8411 United States
Pay Rate: Up to $35.00/hour
Job Purpose
Support design and test engineers by building and maintaining test fixtures, setting up and executing tests, debugging circuitry, and supporting lab and equipment operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate dynamometers for electric motor and/or inverter testing
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic assemblies to determine root cause of defects
- Rework products in accordance with company and industry standards
- Build test harnesses and loads to support product testing
- Design and build engineering test fixtures
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of work performed
- Communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, and other team members
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager
Required Education
- Associate’s degree in Electronics, two-year technical diploma, equivalent military certification, or equivalent hands-on experience
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in electronics, manufacturing, or strong mechanical work
- 3+ years of related experience preferred
Required Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency with PCs, spreadsheets, and word processing tools
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and engineering drawings
- Experience maintaining lab equipment and product documentation
- Ability to assemble and disassemble electronic and mechanical components
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to perform hands-on mechanical work
- Ability to train and mentor an Electronics Technician I
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Skills
- Soldering experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Familiarity with manufacturing and electronic assembly processes
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- 3D Printing
- Electronics or Electrical Contracting
- High Voltage Electrical Safety
- Electric motor repair
- Automotive (on-road or off-road) repair
- Communication / networking hardware
- Computer repair
- Robotics, automation, or mechatronics
- HVAC
- Farming or heavy equipment environments
